Encounters with a Transforming God...

Over the past few months, I have been searching for purpose. I think sometimes I spend too much time searching. I love Priscilla Shirer, and her books. I bought this one about three years ago, but never found time to read it. I think that is because God knows the Words we need and when we need them. This book is about encounters with a transforming God. Do you ever need to encounter God? So many times we encounter Him, but are so busy trying to encounter Him we don't even notice our encounters with Him.
Chapter 2 in this book speaks of our transformation in Christ. It tells how we are like the caterpillar, and we too have cocoon experiences. In these times we feel like God has left us. We feel alone, hurt, tired, and many times overwhelmed. This is when God is transforming us. He is using this cocoon experience to grow us and mature us into the beautiful "butterfly" He wants and desires us to be. We may have many cocoon experiences in this life, but as we do we will continue to change and grow into who He wants us to be.
